Bora-Hansgrohe refuse to give in despite INEOS dominance at the Tour of the Alps: "Tomorrow will certainly be another chance"

With stage four of the 2023 Tour of the Alps proving a quiet day as far as the general classification battle goes, BORA - hansgrohe are planning to go all-in on the final stage to challenge INEOS Grenadiers dominance.

Both Aleksandr Vlasov and Lennard Kämna sit less than a minute behind Tao Geoghegan Hart in the overall standings so with tomorrow being the final chance to take the race win big days can be expected from the Bora pair. “We knew the stage had a potential GC opportunity, so we quickly turned up the pressure on INEOS,” said sports director Christian Pömer reviewing stage four. "The start was quite hectic and Aleksandr Vlasov was part of an attack. However, INEOS closed the gap and then peace returned when a large leading group drove away."

Best placed on the day for Bora was Patrick Konrad who was part of the breakaway and managed to finish in fourth place behind the eventual stage winner Gregor Muhlberger. "It wasn't a bad day for us and we can be happy with our performance. I simply couldn't follow at the start of the final climb," says Konrad.

"There were no more attacks from the classification riders," Pömer agrees. "Fortunately we had Patrick in the leading group, but he had to settle for fourth place. In the end it was a good day for our riders and tomorrow will certainly be another chance."
