The
Vuelta a Espana 2023 is set to be revealed on the 10th of January but rumours are quickly emerging about the route. It is given as a certain that the race will cross the border on multiple occasions, and Andorra is on the menu.
The race is confirmed to start in the city of Barcelona next year with a 14-kilometer long team time-trial, followed likely by another stage set to start and finish in the city. On the third day of racing the riders will head north, and according to El Periodico the finale will take place in Andorra, with a possible finish in the Grandvalira ski area.
This will likely be a summit finish and the first of the race as the peloton head into the Pyrenees. More details are to be known in the near future. It is certain that the race will be in the mountain range for a few days, with the Col du Tourmalet set to be crossed, and a summit finish in Belague also heavily reported.
The race will take place in the 26th of August 2023. For now it is unknown which riders will be eyeing it, besides Enric Mas and Juan Ayuso, as many are still evaluating their chances at the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France.
