BORA - hansgrohe have had a financial boost into 2024 which allowed them to sign Primoz Roglic without losing their previous leaders; and this increases even further into 2025. The entrance of Red Bull is significantly increasing the German team's level, and they are set to welcome the Van Dijke twins from Team Visma | Lease a Bike.
BORA - hansgrohe are having a diabolical set of transfers, having also signed sprinter Sam Welsford and Daniel Martínez last winter - who went on to finish second at the Giro d'Italia behind Tadej Pogacar. For 2025, despite being still over month and a half away from the official opening of the transfer period, the team has virtually secured both Giro breakthrough Giulio Pellizzari (who was second at the Tour de l'Avenir last season) and Jan Tratnik.
But Tratnik will not be the only rider from Team Visma | Lease a Bike joining the German team next season. After the two Slovenians, Wielerflits reports that both Tim and Mick van Dijke will make the move over to BORA. This would come as a reinforcement to it's cobbled classics block. Tom Pidcock is also an option let's not forget, as the Briton is not in the best terms with the British team and he has a lot of connections with Red Bull already.
The Van Dijke twins are a product of Visma's development team and turned pro in 2022. Both are strong rouleur with ability to ride the one-day races, but also help with sprint leadouts. Tim is already a stage winner as a pro, and this year finished on the Top5 of two stages at the Giro d'Italia sprinting for his own; whilst Mick played a prominent role in Paris-Roubaix following Mathieu van der Poel's attack on the Trouée d'Arenberg. He eventually only finished 19th after suffering a crash shortly after.
