The Italian climbing sensation Giulio Pellizzari set to step up to WorldTour with BORA - hansgrohe in 2025

Giulio Pellizzari made an entrance to the big cycling world in 2023, when the still just 20-year-old Italian, among other great results, finished second overall at Tour de l'Avenir, losing only to Mexican wonder Isaac del Toro.

Already then, we have heard reports that Pellizzari was in talks with BORA - hansgrohe over the possibility of joining the team early for 2024, however that was not possible as the Italian had one more year on his contract with his current employer, the Italian ProTeam VF Group - Bardiani CSF - Faizanè.

After Pellizzari's eighth place at the highly regarded Tour of the Alps, including a second place in a stage, the young climber has again become a subject of transfer speculations.

However the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport makes it clear that Pellizzari, currently in action at Giro d'Italia, has already found a new home for 2025. It comes as a little to no surprise that he should head to the German World Tour team, which will welcome Austrian super-sponsor Red Bull aboard next month.
