The
UCI has revealed it's calendar for the 2023 World Championships which are set to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, and will be the first time that many different disciplines will be held simulatenously, as the whole event is set to take place between the 3rd and 13th of August 2023.
Whilst the 2023 Tour de France is set to finish on the 23rd, the riders who decide to participate and then rest towards the Worlds will have two weeks to do so, as the men's Elite Road Race will take place on the 5th of August, whilst the time-trial will take place on the the week after. As for the women's peloton they will race the Road Race in the 13th of August and the time-trial on the 10th of August.
UCI president David Lappartient has commented on the reveal: "Glasgow and the whole of Scotland are creating sporting history by hosting this multi-discipline cycling event for the first time. The UCI Cycling World Championships were one of my visions when I was first elected President of the UCI in 2017.
"That vision is now becoming a reality and the inaugural edition is really taking shape. The unveiling of the schedule enables us to visualise what awaits during these 11 days of non-stop cycling action. The entire cycling community can definitely expect great things," he concluded.
