Remco Evenepoel crashed in early December and suffered very heavy injuries including bruised lungs, fractured ribs, scapula and hand; and more... One month later he was given the green light to get back to training indoors, and on the 7th of February the Soudal - Quick-Step has finally returned to training on the road.
The Belgian is still undergoing a lot of physiotherapy work for one of his shoulders, something which has given him immense difficulty. After two months of recovery, the Quick-Step team will be hoping he has recovered enough to truly begin to train for the 2025 season - at a time where most of his rivals have either began, or are weeks away from making their debut.
At home in Belgium, Evenepoel rode 41 kilometers this Friday afternoon at an average speed of 33Km/h, big speeds for an amateur rider but most likely just an adaptation ride for the double Olympic Champion. He uploaded the activity to Strava. Evenepoel called the activity "Back to where it ended" as he rode through the location where he collided with the opening door of a postal van at the time.
