'Doing a Froome' refers to the act of running with the bike at hand during a pro cycling race. One of pro cycling's most iconic moments in modern times happened during the 2016 Tour de France at Mont Ventoux; and nine years later
Neilson Powless has almost identically recreated this moment at the
Maryland Cycling Classic.
It was a matter of turning a disaster into a comedic moment. The
EF Education-EasyPost rider was racing in the leading group at the Maryland Cycling Classic, taking place this Saturday, when he needed a bike change. A neutral bike was given to him but he quickly turned around, rejecting it, and picked up his bike - running at high speed towards a soigneur that had a team bike close by.
