The UCI Rankings have been updated this week with the results of the Clásica San Sebastián and the Circuito de Getxo in the Basque Country. UAE Team Emirates - XRG have absolutely taken the biggest amount of points in the races as they dominated the latter and had Jan Christen finish second in the World Tour event. At the time being they carry almost 30.000 points over Team Visma | Lease a Bike in the 3-year period. This one will end in only the space of two months and at this point the teams that will be promoted to World Tour and relegated to ProTeam respectfully seem to be almost confirmed.
You can check the previous update. UAE have scored another 724 points since the past update and increased their lead in every possible ranking. Team Visma | Lease a Bike and Lidl-Trek are the two other teams that are battling for second highest scoring this year and are very close to each other, with the American team coming closer after Giulio Ciccone's victory in San Sebastián.
Towards the bottom of the standings Cofidis is the team that has scored the most this weekend but it doesn't salvage them from a very difficult situation. At the time being XDS Astana and Team Picnic PostNL have around 25.7000 points, Intermarché - Wanty has instead become the team at the biggest risk of relegation with around 25.000 currently. Cofidis have reduced the gap slightly but have still 1200 points to make up; whilst Uno-X is around 1700 below the red line. Arkéa - B&B Hotels' hopes of staying at the highest level are virtually over as they stand 3400 points behind the red line.
