This week's update features points scored in stage races Giro di Sardegna and one-day races Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Kuurne - Bruxelles - Kuurne, Faun-Ardèche Classic, Faun Drome Classic, Visit South Aegean GP and Region on Dodecanese GP.
You can check the previous UCI Rankings update here. The Opening Weekend is always one of the most special moments of the cycling season, and this year was no exception. However, it didn't cause substantial changes in the individual rankings.
The 2026 leaderboard did not have any modifications in the top places, as the top 3 remains unchanged. Neither Mauro Schmid nor Isaac del Toro competed in any race last week. Third place Cristian Scaroni, on the other hand, did the Faun double (Faun-Ardèche and Faun Drome), but was far from the victory in both occassions, with seventh as his best result.
Tobias Lund Andresen surged to fourth thanks to a strong Opening Weekend performance, as he sprinted to sixth at Omloop Nieuwsblad and seventh at Kuurne - Brussel - Kuurne. He got 210 points overall, enough to reach a total of 790.
Behind him, Antonio Tiberi and Remco Evenepoel stay in fifth and sixth respectively, none of them having raced during the week. Seventh place belongs to Matthew Brennan now, as he decimated the competition with a powerful sprint at Kuurne that nobody could match, not even Jasper Philipsen, earning 250 points.

In the year-long rankings, Tadej Pogacar obviously remains firmly in control, almost doubling the second place, Isaac del Toro. The Slovenian star makes his season debut this weekend at Strade Bianche, where he will be defending the 400 points awarded to the winner he obtained last year.
There are no changes in the top 8, even if some riders pinned on a number. Mathieu van der Poel won Omloop het Nieuwsblad after a commanding solo effort, but the 400 points he got were insufficient to overcome Joao Almeida. Thus, the Dutch star remains in seventh, although less than 100 points away from the UAE rider.

Van der Poel debuted at Omloop and won with authority
There is one rider who left the top 10, and that is Juan Ayuso. The Spaniard didn't travel to France to defend the 240 points he got last year at Faun Drome and Faun Ardéche, and he went down to thirteenth as a consequence.
The rider climbing the most spots inside the top 100 was Florian Vermeersch, who climbed 18 spots after finishing in second at Omloop, where he was the best of the rest. On the other hand, the rider losing the most positions was Soren Waerenskjold, as he couldn't replicate las year's success at Omloop and lost 28 positions.
