Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe signed the van Dijke twins from Team Visma | Lease a Bike and it is putting them to good use. The pair of Dutch riders, Tim and Mick, are set to race the
Giro d'Italia and
Tour de France respectively if they show their best form throughout the year, each with important roles to fulfill.
"The Tour is indeed an option for me again. A few guys are already confirmed, and a few are still on the longlist. Last year, the team saw what they can do with me, and I'm offering those services again,"
Mick van Dijke confirmed to
Wielerflits. Last summer in Lille,
CyclingUpToDate talked to the Dutchman ahead of his Grand Boucle debut, and he has been able to gain a lot of experience from it. He raced the cobbled classics in the spring, and most likely this coming season his goals will be essentially the same.
"I have to show my worth and make sure I'm in good shape for July. If I fall somewhere or get sick, it can all be over quickly. In that case, there's an alternative to the Vuelta." Remco Evenepoel, Florian Lipowitz, Mattia Cattaneo and Maxim van Gils are set to be at the Tour, and BORA may have here another rider that is well within the plans.
Although he does not yet have the results to his name, the classics specialist has in both previous years showed great legs at Paris-Roubaix, finishing in the Top20 on both occasions, being Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe's top performer this year.

Van Dijke twin likely aiming towards Giro d'Italia
In 2024, his brother Tim finished 8th at Paris-Roubaix, but was later
relegated to 16th due to an unusual sprint that saw him head off the track boards in the velodrome. In 2024 he showed his sprinting abilities at the Giro d'Italia, and he would like to do the Corsa Rosa again, now with his compatriot:
"I've now done the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España, so I'd also like to go to that Tour. But that won't be the case next year, at least. Would I, with my explosiveness, like to lead out Danny van Poppel to the Giro? Yes, definitely. That would be fantastic. We did the National Championships together, and I suspect Danny was very happy with that," he says. "That was really great too. He would deserve it too, to go for the highest possible result in the Giro in the red, white, and blue. I'd love to help him with that".

Tim van Dijke also rode the cobbled classics but missed out on a breakthrough result, however he raced the Vuelta a España as a key support rider for Jai Hindley and Giulio Pellizzari on the flat days. Both are also heading towards the Giro d'Italia, making it a rather obvious fit then for the Dutchman.
