Egan Bernal continues to impress on his return to the top following that horror injury. The INEOS Grenadiers star battled to a brave 7th overall at Paris-Nice 2024.
“It was a nice week. It was very tough, but it always is in Paris-Nice,” reflected the former Tour de France and Giro d'Italia winner in a post-race interview with his team's social media channels. “The team did very well. I think we were one of the best teams in the race. We should be proud of our achievement. I felt good myself. Today I was better than yesterday.”
On a dramatic final stage, Remco Evenepoel took the win with Matteo Jorgenson securing the overall victory. Bernal meanwhile, came home in 9th, 2:13 down, alongside the likes of Felix Gall and Luke Plapp. Enough to secure 7th overall.
“This gives confidence for the future. It's just the beginning of the season. We have to keep fighting," Bernal concludes optimistically. “Never give up, enjoy everything you do. Thanks for all the support!”
