Richard Carapaz escapes fracture free from nasty Tirreno-Adriatico crash

Richard Carapaz's disappointing race at Tirreno-Adriatico ended with a bang on the final stage this Sunday afternoon with a nasty crash around 24km out from the finish line.

Things looked scary when the initial footage was shown, with the Ecuadorian of EF Education-EasyPost motionless on the floor. Thankfully though after medical checks, it seems like Carapaz has escaped from the crash relatively luckily.

"Richard Carapaz sustained abrasions after his crash at Tirreno-Adriatico but x-rays found no signs of fracture or dislocation," says an announcement by the EF Education-EasyPost's official social media pages. "We will continue to monitor his condition over the next couple days. Heal up champ."
