Richard Carapaz's disappointing race at
Tirreno-Adriatico ended with a bang on the final stage this Sunday afternoon with a nasty crash around 24km out from the finish line.
Things looked scary when the initial footage was shown, with the Ecuadorian of
EF Education-EasyPost motionless on the floor. Thankfully though after medical checks, it seems like Carapaz has escaped from the crash relatively luckily.
"Richard Carapaz sustained abrasions after his crash at Tirreno-Adriatico but x-rays found no signs of fracture or dislocation," says an announcement by the EF Education-EasyPost's official social media pages. "We will continue to monitor his condition over the next couple days. Heal up champ."
Carapaz was top dog at Ineos and Movistar and now due to crashes is not even in the mix
