There were no final stage heroics from Primoz Roglic at Paris-Nice 2024 as his first stage race with BORA - hansgrohe finished with the Slovenian down in 10th overall.
"Like I said, it's a completely new environment, new team and also, my life doesn't really change if I win Paris-Nice. So I have to give myself time," Roglic reflects of his week in a post-race interview. "I want to give myself time for all the processes and not push them."
Pre-race, Roglic was one of the main favourites for victory alongside Remco Evenepoel. In the end though, it was Team Visma | Lease a Bike's Matteo Jorgenson who took the overall victory. Now, Roglic will turn his attention towards the Itzulia Basque Country. "It was my first race and obviously I need race rhythm," he says. "From now on, I think it's a good place to build on."
"For sure you can say that I came to Paris-Nice with a mindset to win, otherwise I don't come but we didn't succeed. The second part was to make a good block of intensity and I got that," Roglic concludes. "I stayed happy, I finished in one piece, it's a big mark that's done and it's in the legs."
