The International Cycling Union (UCI) has announced a series of changes to the 2026 International Road Calendar, with modifications affecting both men's and women's races. The most relevant decision concerns the
Tour de Suisse, which from 2026 will be held in parallel with the women's version of the race, within a common five-day format. This change also implies adjustments in other competitions that were scheduled on nearby dates, which means an important reorganization in the international calendar.
In the official communiqué, the
UCI stressed that "this calendar includes all categories of races, but it should be noted that the UCI WorldTour and UCI Women's WorldTour calendars had already been approved last June by the UCI Management Committee, following validation by the PCC." However, new modifications are now being introduced in response to specific requests from the race organizers.
The most significant change is that, "at the request of the organizers, the Tour de Suisse (previously scheduled from June 14 to 21) and the
Tour de Suisse Women (June 11 to 14) will be held in parallel in the same five-day format, from June 17 to 21." In order to accommodate this restructuring, other races have had to be repositioned on the calendar. Thus, "the Copenhagen Sprint in Denmark, previously scheduled for June 20 (women) and June 21 (men), will be held a week earlier, on June 13 and 14 respectively."
