Team GB to launch Rainbow Jersey assault in Zurich through Tom Pidcock, Stephen Williams and the Yates brothers

For the first time in three years, Tom Pidcock will mount a quest to add a Rainbow Jersey on the road to his palmares. The INEOS Grenadiers star leads a strong and multi-faceted Great Britain for the men's elite road race at the 2024 Zurich World Championships.

A Rainbow Jersey winner in both cyclocross and Mountain Bike, Pidcock will be one of the riders to watch in the fight for victory on the 29th of September. The 25-year-old is far from the only option for the British however, as in-form Welshman Stephen Williams, fresh off the back of his Tour of Britain victory and the superstar duo of Adam Yates and Simon Yates, the potential winners are numbered.

2024 Tour of Britain runner up Oscar Onley will also don the British colours in Zurich, with further support coming from the capable trio of James Knox, Jake Stewart and Mark Donovan. Former European time trial champion Joshua Tarling will also make the journey to Switzerland, with the INEOS Grenadiers powerhouse searching for a Rainbow Jersey against the clock.

“It’s fantastic to see riders in such good form after a busy season, and motivated to defend titles or contest rainbow jerseys for the first time," Stephen Park, GB's performance director, says of the selection. "For our younger riders, this is a fantastic opportunity to compete at world level alongside teammates they can look up to and learn from and I’m confident we’ll see some great successes from our future stars... Day in, day out our programmes across all levels and all disciplines work collaboratively together, so to be able to continue this into competition and showcase all of our athletes on the same stage, is a truly fantastic opportunity."
