Mas, Landa, Ayuso, Bilbao, Castrillo... Spain unveils massive climber team for World Championships

Spain has decided to bring all of its current top stars to compete against Mathieu van der Poel, Tadej Pogacar, Primoz Roglic and more at the 2024 World Championships in Zurich. They have plenty climbers to fight for the rainbow jersey that is very much a possibility for an in-form team.

The selection confirmed by Pascual Momparler is crazy. So much so that it is perfectly possible that the victory may fall to the Iberic nation. These cyclists are: Enric Mas, Mikel Landa, Pello Bilbao, Juan Ayuso, Pablo Castrillo, Alex Aranburu, Carlos Rodríguez and Roger Adrià.

The team have Bilbao who has just finished second at the GP de Montréal only behind Tadej Pogacar; Enric Mas, Mikel Landa and Carlos Rodríguez who had strong Vuelta a España performances all finishing high in the overall classification; Roger Adrià whose form was very good towards the end of the Vuelta; Pablo Castrillo who won two stages from the breakaway and proved to be a true revelation of the season and finally Spanish champion and classics specialist Alex Aranburu.

Luxury domestiques and two names for the time trial

On the other hand, for the time trial Momparler has announced two own names: Raúl García Pierna and David de la Cruz. The men's time trial will be held on September 22, with a distance of 46.1 km. On the other hand, the road race will be held on September 29, a week later, with a brutal route of 273 kilometers.
