An interesting transfer this winter was that of
Tadej Pogacar's fiancée
Urska Zigart, who has moved from Team Jayco AlUla to AG Insurance - Soudal Team. That is interestingly, the women's structure of the Soudal - Quick-Step team, but Pogacar is not worried that information will escape into the camp of the Belgian team.
“It was really fun, but I'll stick to cycling” Pogacar shared with Sporza who was on scene at the A&J AllSports paddle tournament this Friday, a social event for riders of an agency that has this week been under close eye as their agent Alex Carrera is guiding Maxim van Gils through a very controversial contract breaking with Lotto Dstny.
Asked about his new teammates, the Slovenian says that he has already had the chance to meet them. “We've already had a training camp and I have to say: all the newcomers are really good. I can't wait to see how they will do in the races as well.” The team will soon have a training camp in eastern Spain based in Benidorm, and the new faces will be part of the large group that will prepare for the 2025 season.
“I'll have to start more races so I can win more" but at the same time the Slovenian stayed vague in which races he would be taking part in: "My calendar isn't known yet.” It is virtually known however that his spring will revolve around a likely start at the UAE Tour, then Milano-Sanremo and Tour of Flanders as his big goals. A Strade Bianche presence is likely and Paris-Roubaix is not. The Giro d'Italia is not in his plans so his spring will be free for other big races still.
He was also asked about Zigart joining the Belgian team on a two-year deal this winter, but he jokes about it, not worried that any relevant information may seep into the camp of one of his main rival teams. “She's going to the same team as Remco, huh! Will she tell him my secrets? I don't think they'll ride together often. Urska would leave Remco behind too soon," he concluded.
