Tadej Pogacar MyWhoosh press release
Tadej Pogacar is back on the bike after the crash that ended his 2026 Vuelta a Espana, with the Slovenian beginning a gradual return to training as he starts building towards next season.
Pogacar has resumed structured indoor work alongside UAE Team Emirates - XRG coach Javier Sola and the team's performance staff, with the update announced through training platform MyWhoosh.
“It’s just nice to be back on the bike,” Pogacar said in the MyWhoosh press release. “I’m taking it step by step at the moment and slowly building things back up towards next season.”
For now, the emphasis is firmly on a controlled return rather than rushing back towards full training.
Pogacar has used MyWhoosh regularly for structured indoor sessions in recent years and has returned to the platform during the first phase of his recovery. “I’ve used MyWhoosh a lot over the years, especially for structured sessions indoors, so it’s good to be back riding on it now,” he added.

UAE urge patience with Pogacar's recovery

UAE are taking the same cautious approach. “The most important thing right now is to let Tadej return to the bike in a controlled and progressive way, with no unnecessary pressure on the process,” team principal Mauro Gianetti said. “We have a very experienced performance team, and every part of his riding is considered carefully as we look towards the new season.”
Gianetti also confirmed that indoor work remains part of the team's plan as Pogacar gradually returns towards his normal training rhythm. “MyWhoosh has been part of that environment for some time, particularly for structured indoor work, so it is a natural platform for us to use as he gradually gets back into his normal rhythm on the bike.”

The update marks Pogacar's first public step back into training after his Vuelta ended prematurely, with both rider and team now focused on rebuilding steadily towards 2027 rather than accelerating the comeback.
