The 2026 Giro d’Italia faces on Tuesday one of those days that can definitively set the course of the race. Stage 10, a demanding 42-kilometre individual time trial between Viareggio and Massa, pan-flat and built for the specialists, looms as the first absolute test against the clock for every maglia rosa contender. Filippo Ganna is the stand out favourite and Jonas Vingegaard should take the pink jersey. We take a look at the start times and order of all riders.
On an ideal course for pure rouleurs, but also decisive to gauge the true form of the GC favourites, the stage will start at 13:15 CET with Frank Van Den Broek (Team Picnic PostNL) as the first rider down the ramp and will end at 16:31 CET with Afonso Eulalio (Bahrain Victorious) closing the start order.
One of the riders who will draw the most attention is Jonas Vingegaard, rolling off at 16:28 CET as the penultimate starter. The Dane faces a crucial time trial for his ambitions, on terrain where he has previously looked like a steamroller.
The final ten starters concentrate much of the day’s competitive intrigue. Michael Storer opens that select block at 16:04, followed by Giulio Pellizzari (16:07), Ben O'Connor (16:10), Mathys Rondel (16:13), Thymen Arensman (16:16), Christian Scaroni (16:19), Jai Hindley (16:22), Felix Gall (16:25), Jonas Vingegaard (16:28) and finally Afonso Eulalio (16:31). Each will face a day where every second could prove decisive for the Giro’s outcome.

Filippo Ganna the main favourite

If there is one name that stands above the rest on this stage, it is Filippo Ganna, who starts at 14:20 CET. The Italian from Netcompany INEOS is the overwhelming favourite to win in Massa. The virtually flat 42 kilometres seem tailored to his strengths: raw power, aerodynamic efficiency, and a unique ability to hold high speeds for long periods. Anything short of victory for the Italian champion would be a real surprise, and his time will serve as the benchmark for the rest.
