Lorena Wiebes claimed her third victory of the 2026 Tour of Britain Women on stage four, beating Liane Lippert and overall leader Kim Le Court-Pienaar in Hay-on-Wye after an aggressive day of racing across Wales.
The Team SD Worx - Protime sprinter prevailed at the end of the 138-kilometre stage from Llanidloes, with Le Court-Pienaar’s third place ensuring she kept the race lead ahead of Sunday’s final stage.
Wiebes had already won the opening two stages before Le Court-Pienaar took victory and the leader’s jersey on the Great Orme. Saturday’s rolling route offered another opportunity for the overall contenders, but the Dutchwoman survived the late attacks before proving quickest at the finish.

Moors puts race leader under pressure

Fleur Moors animated much of the stage with a long-range attack that threatened to reshape the general classification. The Lidl-Trek rider started the day 1:10 behind Le Court-Pienaar and established a significant solo advantage, taking maximum mountains points over the first-category Elan Valley climb ahead of Lauren Dickson and Kate Courtney.
Her lead over the peloton reached 2:40, putting the young rider classification leader well clear at the top of the virtual standings and forcing Le Court-Pienaar’s AG Insurance - Soudal team to work behind.
Moors was later joined by Alessia Vigilia of Uno-X Mobility and Dilyxine Miermont of Team Picnic PostNL, giving the move fresh impetus as the race headed towards the remaining climbs.
The trio still held an advantage of around 1:30 with approximately 30 kilometres remaining, enough to keep Moors provisionally ahead of Le Court-Pienaar overall. That threat eventually disappeared as the peloton closed the gap, setting up an increasingly aggressive finale around the Clyro Hill climb and the run towards Hay-on-Wye.

Late attacks fail to prevent Wiebes victory

Lippert and Le Court-Pienaar briefly opened a gap together before a six-rider move formed featuring both riders, Wiebes, Femke de Vries, Shirin van Anrooij and Josie Nelson. Their advantage remained slender, with the chasing group only five seconds behind as the stage entered its final kilometres.
Van Anrooij attacked again with two kilometres remaining, but the race came back together inside the final 1.5 kilometres. Wiebes then delivered the decisive sprint to secure victory in 3:41:13, with Lippert finishing second and Le Court-Pienaar completing the podium. Courtney and Pfeiffer Georgi finished fourth and fifth respectively, while Moors recovered from her long spell off the front to take ninth.
Mountains classification leader Dickson crashed during the finale but returned to her bike, while Human Powered Health’s Iurani Blanco abandoned earlier in the stage following a separate incident.
Le Court-Pienaar therefore heads into the final day still leading the race, with Lippert and Wiebes both remaining in contention.
