The 2026 Lotto Famenne Ardenne Classic has been won by its record holder. Arnaud de Lie has been having a difficult season, but once again he has bounced back to win the Belgian one-day race, only days away from his Giro d'Italia debut.
De Lie, a classics specialist and sprinter by nature, has had an injury delay the start of his season and put his form into question throughout a key period of the season for the Lotto-Intermarché leader.
His last appearance in the peloton had been at Paris-Roubaix, where he was unable to finish. The Belgian is set to make his debut at the Giro d'Italia which starts next Friday in Bulgaria, but wanted one race day right before it.
He happened to be the winner, as had been the case in 2023 and 2024. The race which started and finished in Marche-en-Famenne ended in an uphill peloton sprint after the late attackers were caught already in sight of the line.
De Lie launched his sprint and took a strong victory, beating NSN Cycling Team's Jens Verbrugghe to the line. Matteo Moschetti finished third to wrap up the podium.
