Remco Evenepoel puts in 7:30h, 5800 climbing meter and 230 kilometer ride as final Vuelta a Espana preparation

Remco Evenepoel has recently created a Youtube channel and he will be posting a video about a colossal training ride ahead of the Vuelta a Espana.

Currently training at altitude in Andorra, the time-trial World Champion is putting in big kilometers to prepare for the Spanish Grand Tour, of which he is the reigning champion. After having to pull out of the Giro d'Italia due to Covid-19 he's bounced back, recently he won the Clásica San Sebastián and the time-trial Worlds. Form is good, but he intended on keeping it just like that, and has travelled to altitude in the weeks leading up to his main goal of the final months of the season.

Evenepoel is set to fight with Jonas Vingegaard, Primoz Roglic, Juan Ayuso, Geraint Thomas and others throughout the next few weeks. Hence, he's taking his training to the maximum, and this Saturday he put in a massive ride in the mountains of Andorra. 234 kilometers, 7:23 hours and over 5800 meters of climbing.

Stats that outweigh any of the Vuelta's stages, the Belgian looks to be prepared for anything. The race will feature plenty mountain stages including the Alto de l'Angliru and Col du Tourmalet summit finishes, and the whole ride was spent riding up and down mountains, getting his legs prepared for what's to come.
