Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe are making big moves in the market. Many more are expected to be announced soon but this Wednesday morning sees the team reveal their signing of
UAE Team Emirates'
Finn Fisher-Black, a move with lots of potential for big results.
"With Finn, we were able to recruit another great talent who had his breakthrough this season. He wins both solo and small group sprints and is fast in shorter TTs," team manager Ralph Denk said in a
press release. "And he does it all with a lot of confidence, even though he's still young. That makes him an exciting rider with great potential."
It is the second rider from New Zealand the team confirm, after Laurence Pithie. The 22-year old is a pure puncheur, a rare breed in the current peloton. This season he has used this talent to win the Muscat Classic and stages at the Tour of Oman and Vuelta Asturias. A talented time-trialist, he has also recently finished third at the Vuelta a Burgos and is starting the Tour of Denmark today as one of the main favourites. He notably finished second only to Jonas Vingegaard last year at the Vuelta a España's summit finish in Bejes.
“I’m really excited to start a new chapter in my career with Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe next season," Fisher-Black himself said. "The team has made some big moves this year and is a project where I can really see myself grow further as a rider. I’ve learnt a lot in my first years in the WorldTour but now it’s time to find my Wings.”
To note that the German team has been heavily linked to other riders such as Movistar's Oier Lazkano and Team Visma | Lease a Bike trio of Jan Tratnik and the van Dijk twins (Mick and Tim). Adding to the transfers of Laurence Pithie, it makes for an extremely talented block of five classics riders. The team also confirmed the arrival of talented young climber Giulio Pellizzari who could in the next few years headline the team's ambitions in the Grand Tours.
