Reflecting on the stage 7 individual time trial, nine time Tour de France competitor
Tejay van Garderen was very impressed by what he saw from Roglic. "He was able to pull back a little time on Vingegaard," begins the former White Jersey winner at the 2012 Tour de France via
NBC Sports Cycling. "Lost some to Remco and Tadej, but this is a solid ride!"
"When you look at Roglic right now, he looks good. He looks like he is in the form of life," continues Van Garderen, a lofty claim considering Roglic already has four Grand Tour wins on his palmares. "Okay he's getting up there in age, but it's not for lack of form."
With many predicting Remco Evenepoel to fall away from Maillot Jaune contention in the second and third week and Jonas Vingegaard's level still somewhat uncertain in his first race for nearly three months following his Itzulia Basque Country horror crash and even tiredness becoming a growing risk for Tadej Pogacar after his Giro d'Italia escapades, if Roglic continues to grow stronger, not only a podium place could be on the cards but potentially even that so far illusive Maillot Jaune.
