INEOS Grenadiers have the biggest budget out of any other team in pro cycling and they are putting it to good use, as they have confirmed the signing of
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and continue pushing their focus into the off-road disciplines.
“Signing with the INEOS Grenadiers is a dream for me. I’m super excited to be joining the off road team and becoming part of a wider group of riders and the INEOS family of athletes," Ferrand-Prévot said in a press release. In an effort to bolster their off-road exposure, INEOS - who currently have men's XCO Olympic champion Tom Pidcock - have taken to one of, if not the most successful off-road rider in the women's field this year and have taken her in what will be a new team.
Ferrand-Prévot has this past weekend taken the win at the Gravel World Championships, to add to her titles in Mountain Biking, in which she's taken gold at the Short Track, XCO and Marathon disciplines. This has seen her tally of world titles for the season to be four, an unique feature throughout modern cycling.
She will possibly debut her INEOS Grenadiers equipment in the upcoming month, as she revealed to be returning to Cyclocross soon and eyeing the European Championships in Namur. Her main goal however will be the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, in which she will pursuit an Olympic gold medal. "An Olympic gold medal is the only one missing from my palmares so it’s the one I want the most. It was a key reason to join this adventure with the INEOS Grenadiers," she said.
“Signing a world-class rider like Pauline is a huge boost as we grow the number of multi-disciplinary athletes racing as Grenadiers," team principal Rod Ellingworth said of the transfer that had been rumoured for the past few weeks. "Pauline is a unique talent. Her palmares speaks for itself, especially after just winning four world titles in the space of two months."
