Paul Penhoët targets World Tour victory in 2024: "I am 100% focused and I want to obtain the best possible results"

The youngest winner in the history of the FDJ French Cup this season, Paul Penhoët received his trophy Thursday evening during the FDJ French Cup Evening, organized in the FDJ studios in Boulogne-Billancourt. At 21 years old and in his first professional season, the Groupama-FDJ sprinter achieved a small feat, about which he spoke to Cyclism'Actu.

"It’s great, it’s a successful year," confides the winner of Tour du Finistère. Having confirmed his sprinting qualities at the highest level, with several top 10 stages achieved in WorldTour races such as the Santos Tour Down Under and the Tour de Pologne, the young Frenchman has everything it takes to take on the role of number one sprinter within Groupama-FDJ.

"This is what I am aiming for. I do things thoroughly, I am 100% focused and I want to obtain the best possible results," he explains his ambitions for "a victory at WorldTour level in 2024."

Describing himself as "ambitious, rigorous and with great strength of character," the Groupama FDJ sprinter formulated three other wishes for 2024: "discover Milan-San Remo, a race which attracts me quite a bit, and a Grand Tour, no matter which one, as well as bringing as many victories as possible to the team," he concludes.
