Michal Kwiatkowski has been secured by
INEOS Grenadiers until 2025, a long contract renewal that the British team have wished for to keep one of the best domestiques in the peloton, aswell as experienced classics rider.
“I’m really happy to be able to extend my contract with the team until 2025, to spend ten years with one team shows I’ve found a team I can call home. It’s an environment which encourages learning and development; a Team that really invests a lot into its riders," the Polish rider said in a press release.
A World champion in his early career years, Kwiatkowski's versatility as a classics specialist, time-trialist, climber and occasional sprinter saw him as one of the most valuable riders in the peloton. Under a significant salary, he was signed by the INEOS Grenadiers in 2015 to become a domestique for it's leaders in the Grand Tours, a task Kwiatkowski not only did, but became one of the very best due to his capacity of riding in every terrain and will to sacrifice himself.
Nevertheless his long stint with the British team has seen him win two editions of Amstel Gold Race, Milano-Sanremo, Strade Bianche, Clasica San Sebastian, E3 Saxo Bank Classic, Tirreno-Adriatico, his home race the Tour de Pologne and several other high level races, making him one of the most successful riders of this generation. Now, at the age of 32, his significant mark in the team has earned him another long-term contract.
Yesterday, he returned to competition at the Tour of Denmark after being forced off the bike due to injuries in a recent crash, and will be eyeing the World championships as an outsider later in the season.
"I’ve seen myself grow as a rider over the years, taking some memorable wins of my own along the way, as well as playing a part in some of the biggest wins in bike racing. I’m looking forward to more of this over the next three years," he concluded.
