"I'm glad, like every year, to make it through Opening
Weekend with all my skin on my body and also a good feeling. I was really
strong both days, so I think as a team we have some things to improve on for
the coming Classics.
"But I think from a personal standpoint, looking forward to
Paris-Nice, I feel very confident."
When asked about areas for team improvement, Jorgenson
acknowledged that there were discussions already underway. It's still very early days in the season, but Jorgenson and Team Visma | Lease a Bike already are looking for ways to fine tune their performances going forward.
"I don't think I need to say it publicly, but we have
some clear things that we've already discussed yesterday in the debrief and
today I'm sure we'll discuss again that just haven't clicked yet."
Jorgenson also highlighted the challenges faced by his team
due to absences and late adjustments.
"It's also difficult. We have a lot of new riders in
the Classics team because of more bad luck, with losing Kristoff to really big
sickness, and then Dylan still hasn't entered after his collarbone fracture at
Down Under. So we're still missing our core team."
Despite the setbacks, Jorgenson remains optimistic about the
season ahead.
"Actually, this year it's going to be good. We didn’t
win both Opening Weekend races, and we can build into the Classics a little bit
instead of starting hot and kind of petering out."
