With a flat 7.1Km prologue it would never be a fair battle between Filippo Ganna and the rest of the field, as the Italian obliterated the time of teammate Ethan Hayter to take his second win in the space of a week.
Several riders warmed up the hot seat today with Patrick Bevin and Samuele Battistella setting strong early times, Tobias Ludvigsson took over their time with a convincing performance before INEOS' Ethan Hayter set the best time despite loosing his foot on the pedal at the start.
With the rainbow stripes of his teammate Filippo Ganna approaching the line though, nothing could be done. A last-minute call to the race, the Italian took as much time on runner-up Ethan Hayter as Hayter did to the fifteenth place with 12 seconds, with the Swedish Ludvigsson surprising himself into third spot.
