Magnus Cort aims to complete the triple with a 2023 Giro d'Italia stage win. The 30-year old Dane already got quite close at last year's Corsa Rosa, finishing 3rd and 4th in stages. He'll try to take advantage of his versatility to win a stage either from breakaway or from a reduced group.
“There are multiple chances for sprinters in the first part of Giro d'Italia. Clearly I hope I can win because it's the only Grand Tour where I haven't won yet," began Cort. "There are chances, but I also know that I'll have to lend a hand to my captains for the general classification. We went strong throughout the year, we'll see if I can continue in my performances from start of the season."

After an excellent start to the season, the 30-year-old unexpectedly struggled to show himself at his best as the spring continued, and even the last test before the Giro d'Italia, the Tour de Romandie, didn't go as hoped: "I was hoping to do better at the Tour de Romandie. Above all, I was hoping to come out with better legs, but between now and the end of the Giro there are three weeks and the condition can certainly improve".
However, despite his not-so-good form in Switzerland last week, he'll have plenty time to build up during the race, and the brutal mountain stages are certain to eliminate many of the sprinters which should give him opportunities to even compete in the bunch sprints at the final week.
