The once fearsome Wolfpack is no longer the team they used to be in the past. Lacking a big name such as Mathieu van der Poel or Wout Van Aert, Soudal - Quick-Step has fallen apart in the Classics. Kasper Asgreen experienced both ups and downs and even he acknowledges things must change if the Wolfpack wants to regain at least some of its former fame and succeed at Sunday's Tour of Flanders, for instance.
Asgreen, a former Ronde winner, told Cyclingnews, that it is not yet what he had hoped for. "It is clear to everyone that we are in a different situation than in the past. We would have preferred the position we had a few years ago, but that is not the case and that is a fact."
"Being frustrated about the fact that we are no longer the same team or sitting in a corner and crying will not help us," he said realistically. "We have to work hard to get back to the level of the past, but it is clear that we have to adapt and bring something different to the table for Sunday afternoon."
