Jasper Philipsen headlining Baloise Belgium Tour as he gets ready for Tour de France

Alpecin-Fenix have announced their lineup for the Baloise Belgium Tour and Jasper Philipsen, who will alongside Mathieu van der Poel lead the Belgian team at the Tour de France, will be testing his form ahead of the Grand Boucle.

Philipsen has had a successful start to the season with two wins at the UAE Tour's chaotic sprints, but hasn't been able to keep the streak of wins running. He has however taken a win at the Tour of Turkey, before two German classics where he finished in and around the Top10. Philipsen has not raced since, as he has been training and will be using the Belgian race to prime his form and test his legs.

Last year Philipsen also used this race as preparation for the Tour, where he went on to finish in the podium a total of six times. Philipsen will be going to the Tour with the goal of taking a stage win and to fight for the points classification.
