The cycling transfer market is already heating up around the sport's newest teenage sensation. After a stunning string of victories and podium finishes the early season, 19-year-old
Paul Seixas is suddenly one of the most wanted riders in the peloton for obvious reasons. Now, the boss of his current team,
Decathlon CMA CGM Team, is speaking out about the young Frenchman's future, his next races, and the massive contract offers that might be coming his way.
Since the beginning of the year, Seixas has been incredible to watch. He took second place overall at the Tour de l'Algarve, won the Faun-Ardèche Classic with a solo attack, and finished second behind the unstoppable Tadej Pogacar at Strade Bianche.
Because of these amazing results, other major teams are starting to look at him. Rumors say that
UAE Team Emirates-XRG is especially interested in signing the young star. Dominique Serieys, the general manager of Decathlon-CMA CGM, gave an
interview to explain how his team is handling this situation.

Deciding on a Grand Tour
First, Serieys explained the upcoming race schedule for Seixas. After the big spring races, the team will finally decide if the teenager will ride a three-week Grand Tour this season.
"We remain in the plan of doing the Tour of the Basque Country, La Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. We will decide, based on the analysis of these races, whether he will do the Tour de France, the Vuelta a España, which remains an option, or no Grand Tour this year. We will first see if he wants to do it and, then, we will analyze the different physiological and recovery parameters, his capacity to do three weeks, to absorb the pressure of a Grand Tour and the support we can bring him," he explained.
When asked about the rumors that other rich teams want to sign Seixas, Serieys was very calm and practical. He knows that having a talented rider means dealing with other teams trying to take him.
"It is normal that there is this speculation. It would be abnormal if other teams were not interested in Paul. I am also interested in other riders. That is the life of the business. We have the conviction to be able to bring Paul what will allow him to win. Afterwards, on the contractual elements, we will be there. Because today, we have a solid shareholder and partners called Decathlon and CMA CGM," Serieys concluded.
