  Geraint, maybe your memory of France faded during your focus on performance but there are plenty of similar parts with « heavy » roads, narrow lanes and short steep climbs, also in Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and more. Vosges, Jura, Massif Central, they all have large parts like Rhigos and Caerphilly

  A difference between cycling and other sports that no-one considers, Top salaries in cycling are huge compared to budgets and revenues. Too salaries in other sports are far less significant.

  The roads in the UK are very narrow, the roads that're loved by UK cyclists will be experienced by Pros who're used to Majorca or Gran Canaria.. ok it'd be nice for good weather but if it's normal like it was when the Worlds was in Yorkshire, then it'll be extra good imo, but Sun is always sought in the 1st instance 😎
