"If you have even a small chance, you grab it with both hands" - No fatigue for Matej Mohoric after Tour de France as he wins Tour de Pologne

Matej Mohoric displayed tremendous form at the Tour de Pologne. The Slovenian showed his best form in the final week of the Tour de France where he won a stage, and he carried his form over to take a stage and GC win in Pologne.

“I had expected this. It's the WorldTour and if you have even a small chance, you grab it with both hands," Mohoric told Wielerflits regarding the last-minute attempt from João Almeida to net the first place, as both started the day tied in time. "They had to try, but I am grateful to my team. I just had to follow along and put the icing on the cake. It feels even better now, because it really is a team effort. It was a fair battle and the sprint was clean.”

The fight was for the intermediate sprint. The two were tied and the sprint could decide the faith of the race. UAE Team Emirates tried quite hard however Bahrain - Victorious controlled the situation and then led out Mohoric who outsprinted Almeida and built the one second gap that he needed to be safe. That assured him of his fourth win of the year.

Noticeably Mohoric has not travelled to Scotland for the World Championships, a race that would suit him quite well according to many, but he's made good use of it. However ahead doesn't yet lay a big resting period, asked if he is able to keep his form throughout the coming weeks he concludes: “I don't know. We will see that in my next race, the Renewi Tour”.
