After a promising start to the 2023 season, with big performances at the Tour of Oman and the UAE Tour, Geoffrey Bouchard was then unable to carry on his good spring legs to the rest of the season, partly due to injury during the Critérium du Dauphiné.
As a result, the 31-year-old Frenchman later had to withdraw from both; the Tour de France and La Vuelta, where he was far from his best level. After his last difficult last few months, he hopes to get back on his feet and have a great 2024 season.
Bouchard, who happens to have worked for Decathlon in the past, spoke to Cyclism'Actu. "After hitting rock bottom in 2023, I tell myself that I will be able to bounce back. I hope so in any case. I still have the motivation to do great things in cycling," the King of Mountains at the 2019 Vuelta a Espana and 2021 Giro d'Italia promised.
