As Jumbo-Visma continue to revamp their team ahead of 2024 and their name change to Team Visma | Lease a Bike, another of their prospects from the developmental team has bid farewell.
Having been part of the Jumbo-Visma developmental team since 2020, Lars Boven can boast a number of positive results, including overall victory at the 2022 Flanders Tomorrow Tour and a fourth-placed finish at Paris-Roubaix Espoirs earlier this year.
“The past four years have flown by. I can look back on a wonderful time," Boven reminisces on the official X (Twitter) account of the Jumbo-Visma Development Team. "I have grown so much, that it is impossible to mention all the things I have learned in this team.”
Joining Alpecin-Deceuninck on a two-year deal, Boven may well be a name to remember in the coming years. One of his more notable results, 4th at the 2023 Super 8 Classic, saw Boven finish closely behind race winner and soon-to-be teammate, Mathieu van der Poel. The chance to work alongside the Dutch superstar marks an exciting prospect for Boven.
