Stage 6 of the Tour de Pologne was the toughest out of all the hilly days and it has delivered a dramatic finale. Victor Langellotti has launched an incredible final acceleration to close the gap to the late attack of Brandon McNulty and in the space of less than 500 meters managed to put 8 seconds on the road to the chasing group. The rider from Monaco is the new yellow jersey.
Paul Lapeira started the day in the race lead but he hadn't fully recovered from his injuries of stage 2 which was Mathias Vacek abandon the race. This opened way for a new rider to take the lead before the main attacks on the day even took place. On the penultimate climb there was a lot of action but at the end of the day it wouldn't become a tactical fight for victory, but instead one where legs mattered above all. And the INEOS Grenadiers rider thrived in his mission, with a dashing late acceleration that saw him take time on the competition and move into the lead.
Langellotti is going into tomorrow's final time-trial with 7 seconds over Brandon McNulty who is now the main favourite to win the overall classification, entering the discipline where he specializes in. However he has Antonio Tiberi only 13 seconds behind as the Italian is third in the overall classification closeby. The latter two are expected to battle amongst each other for the overall win.
Jan Christen, Pello Bilbao, Rafal Majka, Alberto Bettiol, Matteo Sobrero, Filippo Zana and Matthew Riccitello complete the Top10. With the gaps being so small, massive changes in the GC are expected tomorrow.
