Enric Mas recognized that the day had been more than complicated due to the fast pace of the first kilometers in a stage that seemed more like a classic than a stage of a grand tour:
"The goal of the day was to get someone in the breakaway, we did it, we are finding our sensations," Mas sounded satisfied after the sixth stage.
As for what might happen in the next few days, Enric, who is currently outside the top 10 overall, hopes that it will be very hot in the next few days so that the pace will be more tiring and will favor him:
"Hopefully they'll go up and up and up and up to 40 degrees, let the heat come and then let the mountains come."
After today's stage, Enric is still 13th overall, 3:35 behind Mathieu van der Poel, the new leader. He is 59 seconds behind Primoz Roglic in tenth place and more than two minutes behind Jonas Vingegaard who currently sits fifth overall.
