Sven Vanthourenhout on his way to Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe: Preparations for the arrival of Remco Evenepoel?

Former national coach Sven Vanthourenhout has been officially unemployed for a while now, but that should be no longer the case from August onwards. The man who saw Belgium stand on top of every Championship, including Olympic Games, enjoyed attention of all the best teams in the world, and now his future employer is finally known.

"I have a new team. I have an agreement to work in cycling in the future, but it's not up to me to announce that," Vanthourenhout said during an appearance on Sporza’s Vive Le Vélo show earlier this week.

Every major Belgian cycling outlet has independently on each other reported on Thursday afternoon that the Belgian would strengthen the manager staff of ambitious Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe.

What makes this move all the more intriguing is that Remco Evenepoel has been for a long time linked with a possible move to the German team in 2027, which would cause a major shake-up in the power hierarchy of world's strongest teams. And with familiar faces slowly gathering within the formation of Ralf Denk (Mattia Cattaneo is rumoured to be on his way to the team for next season), it indeed seems like the preparations for arrival of Evenepoel might be underway.
