The transfers of
Dylan van Baarle did not come as a surprise, however judging by the dominant stance that
Jumbo-Visma had during this cobbled classics campaign, it will become yet even stronger with the addition of the Paris-Roubaix winner.
"I'm really looking forward to next year. As a Dutch rider in a Dutch team, it feels like coming home," van Baarle said in a press release. "I have closely watched the team's development over the past few years. It was on an upward trend, so I chose Team Jumbo-Visma".

However, despite INEOS' growing quality in the cobbled classics and leadership role that the Dutchman obtained, he decided not to stay in the team. Van Baarle has for several years been a consistent figure in the cobbled classics, however this year he's taken it to another level with a second place at the Tour des Flandres and a maiden win at Paris-Roubaix. He followed that up with his traditional domestique role at the Tour de France where his versatility makes him one of the most valuable riders in the peloton.
Now, he will join the Dutch superpower of Jumbo-Visma, who have already Wout van Aert, Christophe Laport and Tiesj Benoot - all who individually thrived and excelled since joining the team this year. "With Wout and riders like Tiesj and Nathan, we have a really powerful team, particularly in the classics."
"I hope we can perform well in the spring and I want to contribute to the stage races too. The team deservedly won the Tour with Jonas this year and I would like to be part of that next year," he concluded. Van Baarle will today start the Vuelta a Espana with
INEOS Grenadiers, where team leader
Richard Carapaz was also announced to leave the team today.
