Biniam Girmay sprints to 7th place of the French classic Paris-Chauny 👏
Dutch rider Huub Artz has had a great season with Metec-Solarwatt. Thus, the 21-year-old rider has decided to take a step forward in his career and will ride in 2024 for Circus-ReUz-Technord, the developmental team of Intermarché-Circus-Wanty.
The current season was full of excitement for Huub Artz. He was almost crowned overall champion of the U23 Road Series last weekend, but the victory slipped away at the last moment in favor of Jasper Dejaegher. Despite this, Artz has proven his worth and is ready to make the jump to WorldTour development.
The young Dutch rider will follow in the footsteps of Roel van Sintmaartensdijk, who last year also made the jump from a training team to Intermarché-Circus-Wanty. This strategy seems to be working for emerging talent, and Artz is eager to continue his development in a bigger-name team.
What makes Huub Artz a promising rider is his versatility. Although he excels in the time trial, he has proven his ability in various UCI competitions. He finished 11th in the Arno Wallaard Memorial, seventh in the Vredeskoers U23 prologue, seventh in the Midden-Brabant Poort Omloop and fourth in the inaugural Kreize Breizh time trial, as well as the Jana Magiery Memorial in France and Poland respectively.
In addition, Artz made a lasting impression by finishing fifth in the NK U23 time trial and taking third place in the Eurode Omloop, the toughest national classic in the Netherlands, last weekend. These achievements highlight his ability to compete in different types of races and suggest a promising future in the world of professional cycling.
