Demi Vollering and Team SD-Worx ProTime did not have the most amicable separation, now the Dutch rider is preparing for the 2025 season and was at the official presentation of the FDJ - Suez team with whom she'll ride for in the upcoming seasons. It will be a meaningful change but the Dutchwoman is extremely motivated after finding an environment where she is quite literally a superstar.
"I haven't had such a smile on my face for a long time. I signed autographs for over an hour. It's great that so much attention is paid to the fans. There were quite a few people," Vollering told NOS. The Vuelta winner has departed SD Worx and is set to become their biggest rival next year, specially in the Grand Tours and mountainous races. Over several races in the past seasons she and Lotte Kopecky had clashing ambitions, and in some races they were actually matched above the rest and raced themselves for victories in races such as Strade Bianche Donne and Tour de Romandie Féminin.
Now the climber joins the likes of Évita Muzic, Elise Chabbey and Juliette Labous entering her fifth season at the Women's World Tour, and her first big day with the team gave nothing but good spirits for the 28-year old. I saw a lot of passion, fire and dedication within the team. Both among the staff and the management. That really appealed to me. These people really want to go for it. I am really looking forward to this new part of the book," she concluded.
A moment of communion to remember.
