Cycling blood definitely runs in the Vollering family. Following the example of her star older sister Demi, also Bodine Vollering will make a professional debut next year with one of the strongest Conti teams VolkerWessels.
Vollering rode for Dutch club WV Schijndel for the past few years. Aged 21, Bodine made a debut at the Tour de l'Avenir Femmes this year, finishing not too far from the best. However her standout results in 2024 were 4th place at Région Pays de la Loire Tour - Féminin (1.2) and top-10 results in stages of Tour de Feminin (2.2). She signs a contract for two seasons with VolkerWessels.
Team manager Raymond Rol describes Bodine as the same type of rider as her sister. "She rides very strong uphill, which she showed in several races last season. We see a lot of potential in her and expect her to grow in the coming years to compete with the top."
Bodine herself is of course very pleased with the step to a professional team. "I have the feeling that a lot is changing in women's cycling at the moment, which also means that the step to a professional team is becoming increasingly difficult. That is why I am very happy with my choice for VolkerWessels."
"I think the team has the ambition to develop at the same time as women's cycling, while they have also already shown that they can produce some great champions."
Vollering says she still has a long way to go. "I know I have a long way to go to develop myself, because achieving your dreams and goals can be a long but also fun road. So I'm really looking forward to the process and walking that road with the girls, where I can learn a lot from the team and develop myself together with the team."
