In 2024 it will be Intermarché-Circus-Wanty no more. Circus is no longer a named sponsor due to Belgian gambling laws, however, the team that boasts the likes of Biniam Girmay and Mike Teunissen will continue on, entitled Intermarché-Wanty.
"Intermarché is proud to extend its collaboration with cycling team Intermarché-Wanty for 2024. Cycling is one of the most popular sports in France and Belgium," says the company's sponsor manager, Stéphane Pouget. "A cycling team is also, like our companies, a collective, with individuals who perform better when they function as a forged group, who are more creative and motivated when they are connected and in solidarity. We are ready to take on new challenges together with them in the upcoming season. Let us hope for numerous victories in the prestigious and mythical races of the WorldTour."
Although the name may have changed, not much other change will be noticed in the coming year. "We are pleased to announce the extension of our partnership with Intermarché as title partner of our WorldTour team Intermarché-Wanty. In the shoes of Tom Thumb, but animated by the motif 'all together', we have managed to continue our growth in recent years," says Jean-François Bourlart, CEO at the team.
“Together we have achieved great heights by upholding the values of 'doing it together' and focusing on what is essential,” concludes Bourlart. "We share the same ambition to grow step by step. This has recently manifested itself in, among other things, the doubling of the number of Intermarché supermarkets in Belgium, or within our structure in an expansion with a Continental Development Team. I am convinced that this extended partnership will allow us to consolidate our place in the World Tour. We will experience beautiful seasons and many unforgettable moments together."
