Astana unveil Tour de France lineup: Cavendish gets his chance at history with Lutsenko the GC hope

The 2023 Tour de France is now just days away and more and more team's are confirming their lineups. The Astana Qazaqstan Team are among these with Mark Cavendish getting his chance to make history.
The Manx Missile will retire at the end of the season meaning the 2023 Tour de France will be his final opportunity to break Eddy Merckx's historic stage win record. Cavendish is currently tied with the legendary Belgian at 34 victories meaning just one stage win this year ill give him the outright record.
Alongside Cavendish, Cees Bol and Gianni Moscon will be expected to support the 38-year-old. The recently crowned Kazakh national champion, Alexey Lutsenko is the main general classification hope of the team with the likes of Luis Leon Sanchez, David de la Cruz, Yevgeniy Fedorov and Harold Tejada also set to play an important role.

- For a while there, Eli was the best of the rest in cyclocross behind Mathieu and Wout. It must be tough to be forced to retire early due to medical issues, but good health trumps everything else. I wish him the best in his future endeavors.

- I agree that Ayuso was wrong in doing what he did at the tour, but we don't know everything behind the feud unless they all say honestly what went wrong. If he us such a rat and traitor, which it's a bit harsh, then what is to be said about Soler when he was with Movistar and didn't want to ride for Mas?
