Great Britain currently has only one pro cycling team: INEOS Grenadiers. A country that is the birthplace of so many successful riders and has such an ingrained culture in the sport continues to suffer, and it seems to have no end. The lack of teams is already incredibly difficult for the nation, and its top domestic team Muc-Off–SRCT–Storck will come to an end in 2025, as confirmed to The British Continental, leaving even more riders looking for contracts into the upcoming season.
Hence Great Britain into 2026 continues to have only one professional cycling team, whilst the domestic teams continue to bring life to the - very reduced - national calendar. The Tour of Britain in recent years has also struggled to stay afloat and has reduced its race days, this year not featuring any British team besides INEOS. On the biggest race of the year in the country, the smaller-team riders take their chance through the few national team spots that are taken.
There has also been a demise of crucial development teams such as Tom Pidcock's former Trinity Racing, Team Wiggins LeCol formerly managed by Bradley Wiggins, and last year the Saint Piran team which over the season hosted 23 riders in its roster in total. The end of Saint Piran meant the end of continental teams in Great Britain, whilst there is also no ProTeam.

Hope in the distance?

As reported by CyclingWeekly earlier this fall, Raptor Factory Racing are looking to make the jump from club to Continental level in 2026, and have also been met with dozens of requests from riders asking to be part of it. At the time being, it is not yet confirmed if this will happen. Muc-Off–SRCT–Storck hosted young talents this year such as Alex Beldon who finished eighth in the British national championships, finishing amongst a group of mostly World Tour riders. He has left the team however late in the year, joining Israel - Premier Tech's development team.
