2024 Tour de France confirmed to have summit finish at Isola 2000 ski station

With the three Grand Tours of 2023 now in the rear-view mirror, anticipation is already building for the 2024 editions. As more details continue to be revealed, a summit finish at the Isola 2000 ski station has been confirmed for the Tour de France.

The Tour has only finished at the Alpine ski station once previously, all the way back in 1993. On that day, Robert Millar, now Philippa York, looked to be soloing to victory but was caught by the Yellow Jersey of Miguel Indurain and the King of the Mountains, Tony Rominger and the end, it was Rominger who would take the stage win.

News of the summit's return has been confirmed by Christian Estrosi, president of the Métropole Nice-Côte d’Azur region that contains the Isola 2000 ski station, as well as the mayor of Nice, made the announcement via X (Twitter).

The stage is set for stage 19 which will lead into a mouthwatering final few days of action at the 2024 Tour de France with a summit finish also taking place on stage 20 atop La Col de Couillole, before an individual time-trial on the final stage finishing in Nice.
