Nico Denz took a fantastic victory in the fifth stage of the Tour of Turkey. The BORA - hansgrohe German surprised the sprinters in the final finish to take a phenomenal win ahead of teammate Matthew Walls.

"It was unexpected, the idea was to stay safe and get our leader Matthew into a good position in the sprint, I did that, and the finish was very technical, more than expected, after the crash I gave everything and nobody could catch me, in the end I was a bit lucky."

After winning two stages of the Giro d'Italia, being able to finish with another victory in Turkey gives the Teutonic rider a lot of motivation for the preparation of the next campaign. "Yes, it's fantastic, it gives me a lot of motivation, it speaks to the fact that I've been stable throughout the year and that with the work of my coach I've been able to stay in good shape since February in Valencia until now. It's incredible, I repeat that I didn't expect it, especially after yesterday's toughness."
