- If she'd been beaten, then, combined with the result in Brugge, there'd have been questions. Moors has got a pretty good sprint on her (you wouldn't think so) and this, combined with Carys Lloyd's success earlier, gives some hope that there may soon be proper rivals to Wiebes.
It's quite like the case of Annemiek van Vleuten in GC. Because women's cycling is growing exponentially it will be like this for a very long time.
If not, we'll have to wait for Jonathan Milan's future daughter (20 years' time?)
- Lorena Wiebes may be the strongest sprinter in the women's peloton, but certainly not the most clever one. Sometimes it's a very fine line between confidence and arrogance.
- yeah and Remco did NOT have the legs to win that. he is not a climber of this caliber. Florian is tracking to finish higher in the TdF.
- I know, this guy is so exhausting. he has an excuse for everything, and I have never seen a rider get more headlines for no results.
- if Tadej ends today, Merckx is the greatest. If Tadej ends in 5 years it could be a different story.
- It was exciting. Neither VDP Van Eart looked in top form though I felt. VDP has regressed and Van Eart is still to get in top shape. The peleton would never have got them if both had been in peak shape. Philipson won again. He is a crafty sprinter who is very often in the right place at the right time.
- Team leader Jonas - Winning
Team Leader Pogi - Winning
Team Leader Remco - Losing, Domestique and making excuses
- After such a thrilling race, to end in a sprint was mildly disappointing for me. To see Ganna pull them back only to have Alpecin win anyway, not the wisest.
- 🤞
- Philipsen's victory today is like Max Verstappen winning in Japan today... after everyone went into the pits to change tires except him, and half a lap later the safety car came out due to a Sainz crash and the safety car stays until the end of the race and Max won. Who cares WTF!!!
